This is awesome work! I love the idea behind it.

One critique, your magazine angle is a bit off on the gun. It's a bit too far forward..

Edit: I saw the reference, OP is correct

This is awesome. It’s like a birthday photo of someone from the year 2160.

I think he was more taking a jab at the absolutely batshit homemade firarms that come out of Khyber Pass (like a bolt action ak chambered in .308) than critiquing op

It's a really cool mixture of some kind of advanced cyborg and really old weaponry that throws off great futuristic dystopian vibes. I feel like I could write a whole prequel that explains this.

Because that is very jarring. You can't notice that the bore might be too large. But you can notice when a magazine looks wildly off from the real gun. Especially when it's such a well known gun.

Khyber pass in 2077 maybe! Very cool. Would be interested to see what kind of weapons the gunsmiths in that area would put together in the future, AKs would probably still do the trick.

Fucking terrifying to think the guy was volintold to joined the military at a time with cybernetic enhancements- constantly sent back to the fight. Losing a piece of himself every. Single. Time. Until he is barely holding on to humanity- a machine with a better ROI then before. Thats all the higher ups see.

For him its hell on a loop.

crypto1092 t1_it4kakm wrote

Yeah you’re not wrong on the first observation, and then you have the original photo which is a homemade magazine which you probably haven’t seen before. Probably would’ve helped if the reference was included somewhere beforehand

Did you mirror the image so that the Rotoscoping is not as apparent? That's a legit technique. Great picture. :)

Neat. Reminds me of the Assembly cyborgs in Aow: Planetfall, hastily reassembled from corpses and mechanical parts.

For anyone uniformed, khyber pass is a region of Pakistan that is famous for its gunsmiths. Not necessarily for their quality but for the fact that these gunsmiths basically hand build thousands of guns out of low quality scrap metal using fire pits and hand tools.

Most of them have no formal education, and no training in how modern firearms work, instead relying on copying what physical examples they can get their hands on, and doing guess work based on pictures. Some of them actually do extremely impressive work, both functionally and cosmetically, while others will make crazy abomination guns that look like they described a gun to a child, had the child draw a picture based on the description, and then built an exact copy of the picture to scale.

Imagine being a cybernetically enhanced super soldier in the year 2062 only to get killed by what amounts to a roomba with a bolt action rifle from the 1930s.

That gun labeled Enfield (not a real Enfield) in the 3rd photo is a gun Ian at Forgotten weapons covered and it's kinda crazy to see something one of a kind like that pop up again.

There are fair uses for it. If you can't spend much mobile data but Google doesn't waste it or the site went down for whatever reason (you could still use archive.org) then you are using it for it's intended purpose, which is good, but if you are paranoid in the Web like some people, then I'd recommend staying away from AMP links. In the end, it doesn't really matter, since you are always being tracked in the Internet in some way or another.

Love and war, they say all is fair
Take his life, but won't take his hair
Your body parts your country spares
By the way son, here's your wheelchair
He once had to be all he could be
Now he's nothing for no one, nowhere to see
Funny thing, he's like you and me
It's a funny thing, funny thing
Tears streak his solemn stare
Abandoned for wreckage, nobody cares
No one knew what would happen there
No one spoke, no one even cared
Don't ask what you can do for your country
Ask what your country can do for you

The new Star Wars series, Andor, was missing a few things that made it feel like Star Wars for me. It needed more droids, a cyborg like this, and more aliens, like, one in an alien wet market that says something like, “Agluba ma galk?” and offers you some weird “reptile” on a stick.
