This is so good! It looks like it could be an album cover for a rock or emo record.

why do I feel nostalgic for a house I have no personal connection to

For me its the lights on. The outside is cold and lifeless, but the lights draw you into the warmth. Possibly family in there having a good time and waiting to greet you with a hot chocolate.

I don’t know why, but like the other poster, I feel a connection to this sad little scene. Well done. Well done indeed.

Very Chris Van Allsburg, and I love it. It would fit right in as a one off illustration out of The Mysteries of Harris Burdick.

I feel like it's the POV of someone in either a sad drama or a horror film.

are the lights going out, or are they turning on?

I love this kind of art. The simplicity of it makes it incoherently nostalgic and almost odd. I love the equal carcass and admire the colorlessness.

Man! You nailed the tonal values - it's so clean and consistent. The nostalgic mood come through as well.

This is an amazing piece. It’s simplicity really does make me homesick. Maybe memory sick too because I think of when I was teenager and I would be out with a friend and come home at dusk with the streetlight out front illuminating my house. I love this so much. Amazing job

Woah I know this is supposed to be a nice picture, but this has an extremely uncanny and eerie vibe to me... Something is SO not right about this picture. I feel like I'm gonna discover a face staring back at me any second. What is the inspiration for this?

Reminds me of Ansel Adams. This is such a striking use of graphite! You’ve created a warmth from within the house, no easy feat when using graphite. Well done and thank you for sharing.

I just keep looking… your treatment of the street in the foreground is to tactile… and that little bit of light shining on the front porch just draws the eyes in… this is dedication to art and appreciation for detail.

I love this!! It’s beautiful.

However, are you able to have some details inside the windows or some sort of pattern for curtains? It looks a bit odd with it being plain. Adding textures to the window or a candle or lamp inside, or even snow on the sides outside the window too would add more depth!

This is so stunning! I feel so much childhood nostalgia seeing this image. This reminds me so much of my grandmothers hometown, it's a forgotten little place in Pennsylvania, but filled with so much warmth and community

Incredible work
