I’m definitely influenced by her style as I’m a huge fan but I wouldn’t say I’m “ripping off” of anyone. I don’t see art styles as properties. Copying an artwork is certainly unethical and illegal but I portray my own ideas in a form of my choice and tell my own story :)

There are a few casting subreddits, including /r/metalcasting. /r/silversmithing might be able to point you in the right direction.

Be aware there are different methods that work substantially differently and require different tools. Lost-wax casting (including lost-PLA and lost-resin) is probably the most common, but has the highest entry costs. The exact tools depend on whether you do centrifuge or vacuum casting. Sand casting is a smaller barrier to entry, but is more limited in the complexity you can achieve. Cuttlefish casting is also quite low, though is also limited (but you get an awesome texture on your casts). Which of those two is better depends on how easily you can get cuttlefish bones (I have heard some people get them from restaurants) and whether you want to carve or cast existing objects.

There are probably other techniques, but those are the ones I know. I mention the difference because you will probably want to focus on one at first. Be aware that certain techniques can be dangerous, especially centrifuge casting (metal that is almost 2000 degrees tends to do that), so if you can find formal instruction, I would recommend that.

Honestly this is exactly her style, I was looking for her signature in the corner. I think you took it a little too from being inspired. You can use her techniques but not draw characters the exact same way she does. Artists spend forever developing their signature style so to have someone rip it off is devastating.

I actually don’t like cooking at all. I work at a french bakery and my coworkers don’t like making creme brulee because “it takes so much time” so I get to torch all creme brulee orders which is awesome. So my answer is creating ideas to draw > drawing > torching

Love the style but those larger blue propane torches are terrible for doing creme brulees. The smaller butane ones are much much better.

Sure but this is nearly an exact trace of a face she drew. I'm in the illustration world and have not seen this hyper specific style. The broad style of exaggerated forms and line and marker sure. But this is specifically Amanda's style down to the square format and exact face. There's nothing wrong with being inspired and paying homage, but you should credit the artist you're mimicking.

I don't see the point in crediting Amanda if she didn't draw it. I looked at OP's other works and I can spot some differences, enough to see that they're just inspired. I'm not in the illustration world but I've read a lot of children's books and this style isn't that unique, all things considered. Amanda just happens to have a large following. And we have no idea if OP was drawing like this before discovering Amanda or before Amanda gained popularity.

I've seen this style elsewhere. The colors, bodies, faces. It was fairly popular in the 90s. Who is to say Amanda isn't copying someone else? Do you have a concrete source that states this is her style and her style only?

Lol how exactly would I provide proof? In what form? Showing you every illustrators artwork in history? Not sure why you don't believe me as I'm in the industry, have studied the history of illustration, and follow all the illustration annuals. Take care.
