Years ago, someone once said to me “I’d rather be in traffic than the cause of it.” And that’s my commuting mantra now. There is a parent out there that would choose a puking kid over what they are going through.

This is an excellent way to put it into perspective! Sometimes all it takes is viewing it through a different paradigm. Thanks!

When I heard it, I had the same reaction. I’m pretty sure it was during some adult leadership class on paradigm shifts LOL. But, it has truly change my blood pressure when commuting. Well, and Covid took away my commute.

When my kids were little and someone made an asshole move while we were driving, we used to make up reasons for the move. It started as a way to keep me from swearing while they were in the car, but it became a thing. We would think, “That guy’s wife is in labor and he only has ten minutes to get her to a hospital,” or “That lady has to pee so badly she is about to let it rip in the car,” or ”That girl is on the way to her wedding and she is late.” It is funny how that has left me now and I sound like a sailor when someone cuts me off.
