If you have troubles opening jars like I do then keep a small piece of sandpaper on hand in the kitchen and use it to open them with relative ease. It just needs to be a square big enough to fit around the lid of a jar. The grit doesn't seem to matter so much but I assume more grip gives more grip on the lid. I just grabbed a piece of sandpaper I had laying around and used it. It's like a finer grit but it works great. And the best part is it should last for a VERY long time.

Lever-up the edge with a regular tin opener. This breaks the seal, allows air in (reduces the pressure difference) and...makes the lid easier to open by hand.

All you have to do is release the high pressure. That's the seal. A simple butter knife twist between the cap and bottle and easy peasy.

I use bees wax wraps. Very handy.

While this is true, there are people who still have difficulty holding the lid regardless of the seal. Arthritis makes it hard for me and using something to improve my grip solves the problem. Though I've never used sandpaper.

Anything rubber will work well too. Keep large rubber bands(like wide body ones) of different sizes and use those for extra grip.

No it does not.

Just put on one rubber glove. Two if necessary.

I got the idea from a gift that was given out to people at a wedding I went to. It was just a smallish round plastic disc with a grippy surface. It worked great! But it fell apart and I tossed it. But that is what gave me the idea to use sandpaper instead.

An oil filter strap wrench works extremely well especially if you have poor grip strength.
