Anything rubber will work well too. Keep large rubber bands(like wide body ones) of different sizes and use those for extra grip.

Depending on the size it's better to repurpose it into a serving plate. They are made to resist heat, have a lip to catch drippings/crumbs, have feet to keep their contact with the surface minimal, and sometimes just look decent.

Quicker/easier math is take hourly, x40 x52. you get the actual yearly pre-tax without the wierd conversion.
