Set a couple pieces of flatware (butter knives, spoons) in freezer for a bit.

Cold therapy reduces inflammation, using the flatware targets a more specific area of brusing.

Switch out utensils as needed.

It's not glamorous, but I've no idea what's at your disposal.

Vitamin E oil or triple antibiotic cream will help it heal a bit faster; in the interim if you really must cover it use makeup.

Well, I tell my kids I'll just get my saw out of the garage, but they never take me up on it.

It's just a bruise. It'll heal up on its own.

If you have a kung fu school nearby they might have a bottle of Dit Da Jow they can sell you. That stuff will disappear a bruise overnight.

There is a near equivalent to Jow on the market in the US, called Absorbine jr.

Its a similar formula using American herbs instead of Chinese ones, but I never tried it on a bruise

A bag of frozen peas and some rest should do the trick

Several essentials oils have been studied and found to be helpful with bruises and pain. Lavender is probably the most common. Arneca, turmeric, frankincense as well.

My husband had a NASTY bruise on the top of his foot. Bruising covered almost the entire top of his foot and he could barely wear a shoe. Lavender essential oil help dissipate the bruising quite quickly.

Side note: Never use essential oils undiluted.

I recently had 2nd knee surgery and surgeon said arnica gel was showing good results on speeding healing. I used it and def seemed to make bruise yellow earlier than my 1st surgery when I didn’t use it.

I think if you tie a string around it, the finger should fall off in a couple of days.

Ice for the first 24 hours to stop it spreading; then treat with heat, 20 minutes every couple hours (a hot wash cloth will do). The heat will promote blood flow through the area and help your body reabsorb the escaped blood.

Source: these were the arm care instructions for bruising when I worked at a plasma center, most donors had their affected arm cleared for use again within 3 days.
