Just moved here a year ago and i love it, and i’ve got a birthday coming up. I’m under the legal drinking age, is there anything fun i can do for it?

Personally I enjoy Round One in Portland, and Smitty's Game Lab in Sanford. Really any place with arcade games and cheap, salty foods.
Game lab is dope
I mean my idea of "fun" is just sitting at home watching Netflix and eating an entire pizza by myself. I'm guessing we have different ideas of fun though.
The Axe Pit in SoPo is a good time. Head over to Round 1 afterwards for some bowling and arcade games.
Drive to Montreal for drinks
Bowling!
Hit up the Axe Pit in South Portland
I wonder what their prices are now...I remember paying around $5 or $10 when I used to go.
i do that every day. i want some new experiences!
Get a hotel for the weekend. Get some massages. Make candles at Sea Love in Biddeford. Paint night. Bowling. Hit up some museums. The museum of art has a photography exhibit out now.
round one is fun for everyoneeee
I do that too, but I don't exactly describe it as fun.
Especially candlepin
im disabled and cannot do that (yet) thanks for the suggestion though!
Check out state theatre for shows, it’s beautiful too!
So many great childhood memories at 1-7-10 in Augusta! Probably been 20yrs since I’ve last been there though.
It was like 2 bucks and change I think the last time I went. That was the mid 80's. I'm almost thinking you could still smoke in there.
The Lincoln Hotel in Biddeford is absolutely stunning. Could make a whole weekend out of it all within walking distance. There’s an escape Room, shopping, restaurants, walk to Saco and see the falls, quick drive to the beach
Go have a beach fire!
Depending on disability-check out the sport/ski possibilities with maineadaptive.org
If you don't know, candle pin bowling is a traditional version of bowling that was once heavily popular here in Maine. Think skee ball, but bowling. Played in a summer league one year. Much easier on the body than regular bowling and I was better at it.
Moose
sounds like a blast, where can i sign up??
My son did an escape room for his birthday last year, it was a lot of fun
Check out Prides Corner drive in theater! It’s a vintage drive in spot. The prices are good, they usually do a multi-feature, and there’s a concession stand with reasonably priced eats. I loved it.
The drinking age in Quebec is 18. Just sayin’.
haha i’ve never been called “bub” before. i’m in south portland! i’m disabled though, so i unfortunately cant do things like hiking and skiing (for now). I definitely prefer more quiet things, the museums are really nice here, and i saw a show in the theater the other week. it was great!
Go to an all ages punk show. At your age I went to Genos. I don’t know if Genos still has under 21 events. But there must be all ages events in Portland. At that age my life was about getting into shows. I don’t recall ever watching tv or movies at home until I had kids, but I was 21 before Netflix even started mailing DVDs.
you guys are all so old on this subreddit haha. that’s a good idea! i really love the idea of going to punk shows, i just hope they’re safe since the pandemic.
I’ve popped by a few shows here and there and it looks like punk is gentler now than it was in the 90s. Your generation seems healthier, more respectful, and more careful than we were— in all the right ways. Get your booster shot and don’t smoke.
Have you not seen a moose sense you’ve been here?
Wow. I felt this in my soul.
Sun Tiki studios in Portland is a pretty sweet all ages venue. Def recommended checking it out
My husband and I moved here over a year ago and have only seen dead ones 🤣
There’s place in jackman and Greenville area that do moose tours. Barharbor does puffin tours whale watching tours but it’s a little cold this time of year. Gray zoo has moose there also. I know gray is ADA I’ve taken my mom there who’s in a wheelchair.
That's really cool! Thanks for the advice! We have wanted to see some, so this is a great adventure idea!!
nahh im in portland and i dont go outside haha
Oh I lived In sopo for a while. I was about to say the theater is nice and have you been to David 388? Way better than David's Downtown, and more affordable.
What about a pizza with half one kind of toppings and half with another kind?
Check out Maine Silverball Tavern in Saco, they've got a bunch of vintage and modern pinball machines. There's an atm and change machine in house, otherwise bring a couple rolls of quarters and enjoy!

That depends entirely on what you consider to be fun.
