If you like that one then maybe suggest taking RT 15 north out of Williamsport. Should be "the future I-99 corridor". Well at least once PennDot gets a high speed interchange figured out on and off of I-80.

Yes, north Lycoming County is very mountainous and the highway cuts through the mountains. Route 120 from Lock Haven to Renovo is known as the Bucktail Scenic Byway and winds along the mountains.

You can make a nice fall loop out of PA 120 W Lock Haven to Renovo, PA 144 S to Moshannon, PA 879 W to Clearfield, PA 153 N to PA 255 N to PA 555 E to Medix Run, Quehanna Highway E back to PA 879 E at Karthaus, PA 144 S to Milesburg, and PA 150 N back to Lock Haven.

I drove it last fall, but I just went from Lock Haven to Renovo and back. I also went to Hyner View State Park on that trip.

PennDOT should be beginning work on the high speed interchange onto I-80 the Bellefonte exit within the next year or two. The first part of that project was building a new exit for PA-26/Jacksonville Rd, which was completed within the last couple of months. As for the high speed interchange off of I-80 ... Can't say I know what the solution is there.

And the last part of that road that’s in NY actually is officially I-99 already, but when you cross the PA state line it’s just just US-15. It’s been that way for years, hopefully they get it all connected at some point.
