One called an elderly client of mine claiming to be grandson and gotten into a car accident needed money. Smart old lady asked her "grandson" what she goes by (nana, grandma, that sort of thing). When he got it wrong she hung up. It still worried her terribly and contacted the police.
They called my mother saying I was kidnapped and that they will kill me if she didn’t wire them money to Mexico. Please beware this happened to my aunt 3 months ago as well. They’re calling from Mexico and using fake local numbers. Unfortunately they did get my aunt for $1000 last time.
