Hey guys! I (27F) have been living here a couple of years now, and between work and the pandemic, I still haven't really found as many new friends in the area as I'd like. I know people have previously posted about this, but does anyone have any fresh 2023 recommendations for ways to meet new people around Stamford?

We have a informal Reddit meet-up chat if you want to join. We’ve been doing monthly meet-ups

Come to the Stamford board game meetup if you like board games.

28M, I haven’t made any friends apart from the online game thing. Best of luck in your search

Beta climbing gym is pretty social! They have a women's climbing night the first Monday of every month (although a lot of people go weekly!)

Empowered Aerial Fitness is pretty social too! They're have pole dancing, aerial hoop, and aerial hammock. I've met some really nice people there!

You pretty much walk outside walk up to a person you and start the introduction the old school way and go from there. Worked for years.

Do you get the logic you just applied there? You're telling me you never met someone cool in the park or store or library? Who said anything about clubs or party at 1am? English is my second language but Jesus christ.

People are generally equal parts terrified of 1) being approached by someone they don't know and 2) approaching someone they don't know. That's the world we're in now.

Then those people should live in a bubble life is very short. I can tell you from experience. Watching Netflix to ending up in a coma. You have to face those fears sometimes

I don't disagree with you but I think this is kind of useless advice? In my experience in Stamford if you approach someone they'll be very guarded and tell you to leave them alone. That's not something you fix by being more outgoing.

Not really it all depends on your approach. If you're gonna be weird about it then yea
