Ah OK, thank you
Good luck! AAA is worth it despite this kind of stuff happening.
Thanks! Appreciate it
Never had that happen to me. Usually about an hour wait has always been typical in my experience. I think it depends more on the towing service than AAA themselves though.
Could be because I needed a flatbed
This is the first time I have ever needed a tow. AAA sent a text saying they would lmk when a tech was coming over. Do they actually do that? I waited 2 hours in my car before I said screw it I'll wait for the text inside
Yeah, they do text first. The driver will often call when they're near, too.
Cool thank you! Very helpful I appreciate it
That’s likely it OP, I’ve called AAA for locking my keys in my car a few times and they were always there within an hour.
Been about 5 hours now, must be a busy night
Have you called back? You’ve waited long enough to raise hell (in a respectful way)
Not yet, you're right though I'll give it a shot
All depends on the type of tow, the time of day, where you are, etc.
Two weeks ago, my battery died while I was in a parking garage in downtown Boston. It only took ~30 min because they were able to send a regular service truck with a portable jumper pack instead of an actual tow truck. Had I needed a tow, they said it would've taken a lot longer.
I'll pin this after but it's definitly important to call because they driver forgot about me so I wasn't even on the list could have been waiting all night.
Nah. Only time I've had to wait for more than an hour for a wrecker was in a blizzard. I guess maybe I just get lucky? Or maybe we just have better tow companies outside of the city.
Yea you have to get on them, every half hour or so check in and remind them you're still waiting.
When I've needed to call AAA in the past two years, it always takes FOREVER for someone to be routed to me (even if the call itself is simple).
It's worth it to call back if you've been waiting a long time and get a new ETA.

Yes, it's normal. Unless you're stuck blocking a major road or on the highway, it's not considered a high priority.
