I don't think I've seen anybody attempt this yet. What is THE single best beer from Baltimore? Not best brewery, the best beer by name. Let's see- what should the rules be- you only get two beers- your favorite, and runner-up. Something that's regularly on tap at least at the brewery, doesn't have to be in retail outlets. But no one-off specials that you had that one time in 2017 that was really good and they haven't made since. We'll be a bit expansive with the definition of Baltimore- ideally city limits, but as long as it's something that someone not from here would consider Baltimore, we'll take it. Entries that are clearly Washington DC will be disqualified. Let us know your favorite and runner up, and why if you like, or just put the beers- doesn't have to be what a "beer expert" would choose, just what you pick every time.

There are three. Resurrection, Loose Cannon, Duckpin. These are the Baltimore beers.

StinkRod t1_irrwg8b wrote

That's a good list, but I think so many beers have surpassed Resurrection. I think it was top 3 in 2000. Now, I wouldn't put it in the top 20.

And I’ve never cared for duckpin, but I’d say that he’s right that those are Baltimore’s most iconic beers

So many great beers to choose from here in Bmore, and one's appreciation for each one changes depending on your palette at the time.

I'll nominate the Astrodon Hazy IPA from Peabody Heights, Zadie's Lager from Union, and Key Brewery's Positive Mental Attitude Pilsner.

My classy answer would be Old Pro by Union. Phenomenal.

For a cheap lager, Natty Big is heads and shoulders above Coors, Bud, Miller and the rest… I still prefer a craft beer, but it’s easily my favorite in its category.

Top choice - Pilsner ish by Wet City. Look, I know it's an insult to lager aficionados. And it's made by a kinda hype brewery that mostly does fruited sours and hazy IPAs. But it's just so good especially in the humid hot Baltimore summer.

Runner up - Astrodon by Peabody Heights. Just a nice straightforward hazy IPA made by an excellent brewery. Green Machine is on the same page as this one.
