Some good answers in here and the previous thread. I’ll always shout out Franks Pizza on Harford Rd Belair Rd as the best typical faux Italian delivery/carry out pie in the city. This isn’t a fancy pub pizza, they have the exact same menu as every other faux Italian place. But their pizza is the best. And unlike some places, they are technically in the city.

I live near too and we love Lil’ Niros at my house. We’ve never tried franks. Too bad we just had pizza tonight. Next time we’ll have to try from there.

And they do Detroit style now! I love the Mediterranean pizza. 🤌

I just looked this up and the only one I see is on Belair, is that the one?

Edit: I see in another comment it is. Thanks for the suggestion, I live near.

I used to sell restaurant equipment to them, great group of folks who run the place.

I’ve got to try this out. I generally hate Baltimore pizza, except for tiny gourmet pies with a lot of toppings

2

ReverendOReily t1_j31q3if wrote

Pro tip: they do have the menu of any other faux Italian place, but some of their pasta dishes are better than anything you’ll find in Little Italy. The Mediterrano (pink sauce, crab meat, shrimp, scallops) and Reffugio (pink sauce, chicken, mushrooms) are both absolutely to die for. And, as others have mentioned, an incredible staff. My family has been going for decades and the quality has never dropped

I'm forever devoted to the Pizza Boli's in Remington because I have celiac and have never once had a cross contamination incident with their gluten free pizza (which is by far the best gf pizza I've had anyway) AND the one time they did screw up my order and sent me a regular pizza, they called me and screamed "don't eat that pizza!" before I had a chance to call them. (Luckily I noticed the crust was thicker and puffier than the gf crust is, and had my phone in my hand to call for confirmation before it rang.) They then immediately sent me a new pizza free of charge without me having to return the old one, so my roommate with the proper digestive system was happy to have a free pizza all of a sudden.

artfullyjaded t1_j3080sj wrote

This is so good to know. I moved to Baltimore a month ago and haven't wanted to do the trial-and-error that it takes to scout out good gluten-free pizza options, so obviously I'm craving pizza at this point. I'll definitely be getting a pizza or six from here.

5

justhere4bookbinding t1_j30cyjy wrote

If you haven't found it yet, Sweet 27 is a completely gluten free restaurant and bakery. Most of their non-baked goods are Indian fusion, but they also made a decent cheese pizza and a caprisi pizza. It's more expensive than Pizza Boli's tho

2

groovevault22 t1_j31ib5f wrote
