Yeah, it's really hard to find good restaurant workers these days...cannot blame them for still doing takeout.

Lots of Asian restaurants are takeout-only.

Their kitchen is small - they probably can't make enough sushi to satisfy both dine-in and take-out orders.

Damn, it’s a bummer to hear they’re still only take out. Gunna be coming back to Boston for the holidays was hoping to be able to visit.

Yeah, it's a bummer. I've been going there since around 2011 and it was my favorite. Great seasonal nigiri choices, very affordable chef's sushi lunch, etc. Haven't been since covid hit though because they haven't opened up for dine-in and I live in Boston so takeout isn't really an option.

They wrote about this back in 2021, but they haven’t really made any updates to their thinking/plan since then. It’s possible that they like the model and are doing as well/better than they did before, maybe? I know a lot of people, myself included, who get take-out orders from them regularly, and they always seem busy when I pick up from them.

A ghost kitchen is a place that only operates on the delivery apps and has no physical storefront. They usually operate out of other restaurants or just non-retail kitchens.

It'd be more accurate to say that Cafe Sushi is a take out restaurant indefinitely since they still have a real world presence.
