AI art isn't all that difficult, tbh

digital art =/= AI art. I'll admit that I don't understand why it being digital makes it "even cooler", as a physical process and object is more impressive to me but if OP made this digital image themselves, that's still pretty good work.

I don't have any proof, but this feeeeeeelllllss AI generated. If they did indeed make it themselves, good on them because it is indeed pretty cool, but I'm honestly skeptical.

I hate that we've gotten to the point where we can't be sure if someone poured their heart and soul and skill and time into a piece or if they just typed a prompt into a text box any more. Really feels like it cheapens everything.

Edit: leaving this up for context, but I no longer feel like it's AI work. My apologies for not digging deeper.

Why is it preferable to take the energy required to make a typed out post discrediting artwork when a click to check their post history is both more efficient and simpler?

For what it's worth, I agree with your statement, looking back on it. It was a comment made quickly between trying to cook dinner.

That said, I think it reinforces the point I made in the second paragraph. It sucks hard that those doubts even crept into my head, or that a deep dive into someone's other posts is now required to be confident somebody actually put time, effort, skill, and passion into a piece.

My apologies to the artist for being doubtful in the first place.

If you look at their other work it's pretty obvious their stuff is just digital 3D. Their style is fairly consistent and I could see how they'd render out this type of thing in Maya or Blender.

what medium did you use?

Blender + Affinity Photo

Just curious, how did you get the skin to be so flaky? Is that the actual model in blender, or during rendering on top of the model, or after that in affinity?

I've used displacement in the shader. The base model is just a normal looking human

I was wondering how it was done too. I was thinking liquid latex with textured layers for the skin.
