It pops up on my SO’s iPhone often. I know iPhones pretty well and can’t seem to find the reason behind it.

Chances are she’s installed some ad ridden game. A lot of crappy free games have malicious ads like this.

Go either into the app library or scroll down in the settings app, after the device settings to where the app settings are, and look for an app with the same icon as in the photo you posted.

And then delete that shit, it's annoying at best and malicious at worst.

Seems from the comments that this might be an employer mandated app (which frankly is bullshit on a personal device but that’s a whole other thing). If she’s not allowed to delete it, id just go into settings and turn off the notifications as long as there’s no other important ones that might be coming from it.

Turf off your notifications for that app.

Oh, ok… checkpoint, the app creator, is a reputable software company, known for securing enterprise networks as well as endpoint devices. If the app says the device is at risk then it is. Please read the message carefully, more info should appear when tap on the notification. Probably it requires installation of the latest security update 16.3.1

Ask your so what the app is and why they have it. We have no information here.

It’s definitely this; likely has iOS that has a security exploit and the device compliance audit flagged something. Soon enough her IT dept will be (or already has sent) sending her emails to update her device or her access will be denied at some point in the nearby future

Don’t click on it. Just swipe up on your screen to get rid of it.

It’s a device, and it’s at risk!

This might not be the case for OP’s SO, but the company I work for will give you a phone, or the option to use your own phone (BYOD) and pay part of your bill. If you use your own phone, they download so much stuff on it, it’s ridiculous. And they can wipe the whole phone remotely. Needless to say, I carry 2 phones now.
