I never thought deeply on it but I would have expected the PATH railyard would be connected to allow cargo trains to deliver the cars or components for assembly there. I've seen open bed trains transporting other train cars on regular rails so it kinda leads one to think it might be the same case here. Also, when was the last time you saw a PATH car being transported via a road?

Path train? Maybe a year or so. I’ve seen a NYC subway car more recently. Most factories will not have freight rails directly connected to them. The middleman for them from production to being ready to take you to work or out on the town ( and the final leg for most freight in the US) will involve a road and a truck.
