How about the same league?
Also, if anyone can point out a bakery that is eerily similar to 2nd Street but is open until 4 PM or opens before 7 AM that'd be great, thanks.

Choc O Pain is pretty solid and produces artisan goods of high quality. On the other hand, the chocolate croissant I got from 2nd Street Bakery was basically pizza dough (not laminated dough like an actual croissant) with some chocolate chips thrown in.
2nd Street for Nonna’s love, Antique is vaguely similar.
Chocopain/Maman are similar for bougier fare.
Antique is basically the same as 2nd Street, though with surly counter service.
If you need a “sub sandwich” served with a snarl, go to Antique.
If you need an “Italian Sandwich” lovingly prepared by Anne & Gino, go to 2nd Street.

Wouldn't that be Pecoraro's? TBH I've only been to 2nd st a couple of times.
I like Antique, but 2nd Street just hits different when it comes to sweets. I haven't had their bread loaves yet, so maybe those two are the same, but I'm specifically looking for something like the cinnamon or chocolate bread 2nd Street has.
Ah, I don't buy the sweets, just the stuffed bread and the loaves. What's the chocolate bread like, does it resemble babka?
It's this, I think I'd fail to describe it lol:

For me they are all in the category of not Jed’s.
No, they are all different, and each has their own strengths.
Maman and Choc-o-Pain are closer in substance and pricing - and they are nothing like 2nd Street. If I want a huge, and very well priced, sub I am heading to 2nd St. If I want a "fancy" pastry that is going to cost me a pretty penny, I am going to Maman. I never patronize Choc-O-Pain (read about their sordid attitude in the immediate aftermath of Sandy *** ) and Antique is nice/good, but I have a soft spot for 2nd St Bakery.

*** - I screwed up here by misremembering - same location, different business. It was Made with Love that behave poorly in the aftermath of Sandy, NOT Choc-O-Pain. Notwithstanding my faulty memory recollection, I am still not a regular patron of Choc-O-Pain for different reasons which I didn't mention in my post. Chief among them, my very close Parisian friend used to get enraged anytime I would shop there over what she considered outrageous prices, so over time I stopped patronizing their place altogether. But, their stuff can be really good.
I've never had a sandwich at 2nd St but I feel like I agreed with everything in this post. I never really go to Choc, and it's not cuz of the Sandy thing, it just never filled a hankering.
Chocopain when I do go, it’s for the kouin aman (I prob spelled that wrong). But they are amazing, also some kind of curry chicken savory thing was really good. Do NOT get iced coffee there. It’s watered down hot coffee
Wait - please remind us/me in on the “Sandy thing” because I must have run a brain-de frag and deleted? TIA.

This is where the category "bakery" doesn't really help anything. All bakery indicates here is something like "produces/sells baked goods". But there are major differences that make each unique:
Choc o Pain, as previously mentioned, probably has the strongest loaves of bread and French style pastries.
Maman has good baked goods, but more emphasis on breakfast and coffee drinks compared to the other locations mentioned.
2nd Street bakery is more hearty Italian-inspired doughs and doesn't seem to have baked goods that shine for their technique (such as "laminated" dough as a previous comment said). More deli type options than a basic bakery.
I feel like antique bakery verges into deli territory as well, but is similar to 2nd Street in the style of dough.
They're all bakeries but I would narrow that category by French-inspired bakery vs Italian-inspired bakery.
