First it was kind of hilarious the amount of ads they were showing on MeTv. Like, I just want to watch my MASH and now I get like 3 ads in a row about Camp Lejeune.

Then I think I got one or two things in the mail. Mostly because I live at my grandparents old house is why I got targeted. I normally get a bunch of old people mail so... whatever.

THEN my father gets FIVE calls about this place. And a text or two. What the hell?

I know why they're doing this but I've never seen it go this overboard before.

You mean the cancer lawsuit ads? So far I've only seen a few ads on tv for the lawsuit. Some on FB that I completely understand why I get them; since I spent time in the early 90's on that base. But nothing as far as phone calls, or mailings.

Yes! It’s in my email, in the regular mail, on commercials, and all over Facebook. What gives?

The government has set aside a huge amount of compensation money and every ambulance chasing law firm wants their 30% of your claim. Fuck lawyers.

YES!!

But I’m not getting calls. Just emails and ads. I do have an out of state cell. Maybe that’s why?

Jeez, it was a military base you’d think they’d have a record of everyone who ever served there and their families.

I’m already suffering from the toxic burn pits and hearing damage from 3m ear plugs. I ain’t got time for Camp Lejeune

Every swinging dick with a law degree wants in on the payday. Hence the multitude of ads.

I get about 5 emails a day about Camp LeJeune. Most of them get into my junk folder but a few have been making it into my inbox.

Yes. I know the number by heart now, so I prank answer every time.

Caught one of the spammers with the ol' "Is your fridge running?...WELL YA BETTA GO CATCH IT!".

The thought of paying for something and still seeing ads is revolting personally. If something's ad supported, it should be free; one or the other.

Just checked and Green Acres and Andy Griffith are both on Pluto TV, which is free with ads, but it's your money, you do you.

I wonder how much of this is generational.

I feel like such a celebrity. Altogether I have about ten years aboard Swamp Lagoon in about four different areas. It is a big base. Hence the thing by the main gate that that reads "...Largest Amphibious Landing...whatever" it's been a while. For fun (i'm old) I've called a few of the ambulance chasers and given them a hard time about "what part" of the base they are looking for. Just one part of it, along the ocean part "back road" it's over 20 miles from the rifle range to the back gate. It was a hoot at first but now they all have maps. The phone answerer dutifully takes my name and current location. I tell/told them "Archie Henderson" from the corner of 8th and I.

What do they know, been watching MTV all their lives...
