Bullet Train is highly overrated on this sub

It was better than I thought it'd be, but also had zero surprises for me other than Sandra bullock. This type of stylized violent film with quirky humor isn't super common, though it's not new. It was enjoyable and I have no regrets watching it, but also I'll personally probably never go back to it. But that's just me.

Its one of thoose really decent films you gotta watch for one time and thats it . its not a film meant to be watched too many times , and its not the only one

I enjoyed it a lot, definitely came out of the movie really glad I had watched it. Not one to make me ponder life or anything and not my favorite movie ever but 10/10 viewing experience if you just want to be entertained. Insane shit happening all the time, pretty neat stylistic choices, a lot of twists, decent humor, overall great action movie

It’s a film that delivered exactly what it promised. A silly, fun action-comedy that was at times a whimsical murder mystery. That’s what was promoted and that’s what they delivered!

It’s a fine movie. I like most movies so the bar is real low. The only drawback for me was that anytime it seemed like conflict was going to be resolved, you knew another curveball was coming because the movie is such an adrenaline rush.

I also hate when a character is shown dying and then they turn out not to be dead. That’s so lazy to me.

It’s for sure the type of movie that would be in TNT and I’d sit down and watch for a bit while waiting for a dinner reservation on vacation. Entertaining enough

2. If "having a lot of blood" is your bar for a good movie versus a bad one, I'm not sure how much I can take your movie opinion seriously. If it's also a little unsettling that something like that is so highly rated in your eyes. You made other okay points about other features in the movie, but I would avoid mentioning "a lot of blood" as a reason for rating a movie positively in the future. That's not exactly a deciding factor for most people and probably more often a deterrent than attractant.

Yes i know i did forget the spoiler part , but " a lot fo blood " is okay for me . its an R rated movie for gods sake . its supposed to happen in the movie . i have seen a lot of movies with WAYYYY more blood get even better reviews than bullet train . and if your saying that the film didnt have much story , you gotta remember the flashbacks and the white death reveal . besides tangerine and lemon is one of the only reasons that i rated it so high up , theyre story is better than most so thats why .

Everything Everywhere All At Once? The Northman?

Everything Everywhere All At Once is a film in which the multiverse actually works and is cool. But, it is highly overrated and nowhere near as great as everyone makes it out to be. It’s a good film, but not close to the top spot.

Brother, you're missing the point. I'm saying that most people aren't going to rate a film positively based on the amount of blood. I would go as far as to say that most people would rate a film lower for gratuitous amounts of blood, honestly. If that's your thing, I guess that's fine, but don't use it as a talking point when trying to persuade other people on the quality of a film. It's certainly not something that most people will see as a big positive and hurts your argument more than helps it.

Felt like a Tarantino wanna be movie to me. A bit of a rip off of the style, but as a movie that you watch while leaving your brain on the side table, it was enjoyable.

Loved the movie espically Lemon and Tangerine they were my favourite characters.

It was a mindless action film with a terrible plot and god-awful internal logic. A solid 9/10 that I highly recommend.

I liked the movie for what it was, a quirky action comedy with a lot of curve balls and mystery. However, it lacked a lot of depth. How did Brad Pitt's character get into this business? What motivates him? Who is he? Who does he work for? On a side note I'd love a Bullet Train/John Wick crossover.

I absolutely detest the action-comedies of this era. I sorely miss the classic "hard" action movies with the occasional joke like Die Hard or Predator. I vastly prefer stuff like 13 Hours, Sicario, Extraction to this type of silly nonsense.

It's the most eventful movie I've seen in a long while.

No it's not. People are naturally squeamish and have a hard time looking at blood. Maybe not a majority of people, but there is a large contingency of folks that have a hard time with blood and gore. There are a lot of people that love movies and watch movies but avoid the horror and over the top action movies that I'm sure have seen more movies than you and I combined. I would consider them seasoned regardless of they could handle blood or not. I bet we could roll through RT or another movie rating site for this film or another like 300 and we would find people giving it out reviews for the violent stuff but few people praising it for the blood and gore.

It was a bit too dumb and superficial for my tastes.

Watched it on a plan with Subtitles...was not as good as Confess, Fletch (which was made me laugh a few times even through subtitles).

I enjoyed it far more than I expected I would going into it. Colorful, fun, stylish, and the concept of the whole thing being self-contained in a train made it cozy on top of all the rest.

Definitely not a masterpiece, but I don't get how it got mid reception overall, while people praise stuff like John Wick which are basically the same thing, dumb action movies. Or a movie like Nobody which is always getting its dick sucked in every comment section as a great action movie, while in reality apart from the 10/10 bus fight scene the movie is mediocre at best.

Absolutely agree! I found it to be incredibly smart and funny. There wasn't a moment I didn't enjoy. Also, it's a perfect study in chekhov's gun!

And this has what to do with my comment? I believe there were several aspects of filmmaking within Bullet Train that are reminiscent of Guy Ritchie's filmography. As said, some were made use of better than others.

My brother took me to see it and I went in knowing absolutely nothing about it. It immediately became one if my favourite films. It’s not super deep, or anything, but goddamn was it the most fun I’d had at the movies in a long time.

I thought it was a fun watch, but only if you turn off your brain with a little alcohol and watch for the fun factor.

I'm fine with blood. Doesn't bother me at all. If you decided to read my comments, you would see I was merely giving OP some advice on more effective argument methods. OP wanted to inform others that he thought the movie was good and opened up with talking about the amount of blood in the fight scenes. I simply told OP that focusing on other cinematic aspects would strengthen his argument far more than talking about the amount of blood involved.

That being said, I haven't seen the movie yet. It's on my watch list. I wouldn't be able to appropriately acknowledge or discuss any racial undertones related to the film. It seems like you have a pretty strong opinion about it, however. I will make sure to keep that in mind when watching the movie to try and see where your critiques are coming from. I'm sorry to hear the movie bothered you so much because of the race selection for the protagonist. The good thing is, Hollywood has been making strides in terms of improving the diversity of movie leads and protagonists. Hopefully, they continue to do so, and you find more films that suit your tastes moving forward.

I enjoyed the movie enough to leave my phone alone, but I couldn't tell you anything interesting regarding the story. I can't even remember what was in the case. The jokes were okay but got stale after a bit and the flashbacks to scenes that happened in the movie were very annoying. Like yes, I know the snake belongs to the venom lady, I get it. What bit of the lore was interesting? It was just another version of something done many times, some guy takes over a crime syndicate, someone else wants revenge?

I just image the team of Netflix new grads who wrote this film, logging in here each day and advertising this awful, limp shit of a film.

I wasn't expecting to like this movie at all. I was pleasantly surprised! I quite enjoyed everything about it.

Trailer put me off, but watched it last night and really enjoyed it.

Oh yeah, it's definitely easy-watching, probably due to the cinematography and vibrant colors. Plus the cool factor of the antagonist. I thought it was John Wick coming to do a crossover just by that scene in the rain where he spins the chamber on the revolver. I think that was my favorite scene of the movie, where it sets the tone of this brutal killing machine so effectively.

But also I think it really had its own voice and was unique and knew exactly what it was trying to be; a cute and fun action film about luck and fate.

I loved it, but I don't think having Sandra Bullock show up at the very end (or having a single shot cameo of Ryan Reynolds as the alternate assassin) really added anything to it. She had a great v.o. performance as the handler though.

It's not a really good film. Is it exactly what the trailer showed it to be? Yes, and there's no shame in that.

I totally understand why people enjoyed it and there's clearly a lot of work in it, but personally I found it to be full of the worst aspects of the deadpool films and a lot of the attempts at plant and pay off felt either forced for the sake of it or just not that satisfying. The cast is great and I think as an action film its enjoyable enough but it felt like it was made by a film student who grew up exclusively on Edgar Wright films and 2010s meme culture. The fact that the shut up Karen line was only in the trailer also feels kinda baity but that's a slightly more personal gripe than the rest of the personal gripes I have about it lmao. Again, I think it's well made and works alright for what it is but I feel like it suffers from so many issues that other films get criticised for but people act like it's a breath of fresh air which I just find confusing

Just watched this with the wife two nights ago and we both thoroughly enjoyed it. She’s not a fan of gore but the writing, pacing, editing was so crisp and clean. What a bunch of fun that movie was!

As a person living in Japan, I didn’t like it. The Japanese accents were off, and so was everything else. How do you get that many non-Japanese at the same time in one train? How do you get that many guns in the country? Why isn’t the conductor or people in the train not contacting authorities? It’s like they have a bullet train and this yakuza backstory, but they’re not in Japan.

I know , i think they should have added a bit more to the story for japan . There were plot holes , i just rated the thing because of how fun it was , just that 👍.

I think It also set a good precedent for Glass Onion. I enjoyed both movies about the same.

I loved it, it reminded me of the movie Snatch in a lot of ways.
