I think tongue in cheek is the more apt descriptor.

Jeremy is a master at this. He genuinely means what he says here, but he's simultaneously poking fun at his detractors by using the kind of speech that they utilize and prefer.

The hilarious thing is that the right thinks using terms that left uses is some sort of clever stroke of genius but they're literally just mocked for doing it.

It does nothing but make the left laugh at them and all the while they're patting each other on the back.

It's almost sad.
