So I flew Frontier from MCO to TTN. I know my first mistake was flying frontier lol. Anyways, the flight there and back was completely fine until we landed and we were greeted with a “Welcome to Philadelphia!”

We landed in PHL instead of TTN because they said due to the fog the Trenton airport didn’t have the correct equipment for landing? They did say they’d eventually get us to Trenton. Well two hours later they canceled the flight and left us scrambling at 2am in Philadelphia.

They told us we’d get reimbursed up to $100 but everytime I chat with an agent they tell me the flight isn’t eligible for a refund because the flight departed. Is there anything else I can do?? Is this normal for Frontier to not be able to land in Trenton?

Flights are diverted literally every day for a multitude of reasons. Trenton isn’t special that way. Sorry it happened to you!

They say you’re not eligible for any type of refund because the flight departed? The destination was Trenton not Philly and the cost to finish your travel to the booked destination is on them not you.

This isn’t horseshoes and hand-grenades, close enough doesn’t cut it.

Getting a refund from an airline is a complete hassle. Good luck.

This happened once while my husband and I were long distance dating - he flew to see me and his flight was diverted to another airport an hour away due to fog. He was not flying frontier. I know it’s a pain in the ass, but it does happen when they can’t land in the fog. I was able to go get him, but I know a lot of people on the flight struggled to get transportation back to the correct airport. Sorry it happened to you, that’s frustrating!

I guess bc Trenton is super small and might not have all the same things a major airport like PHL or EWR has they might have to bail unexpectedly

If my googling is right, TTN only has a CAT I ILS system, so it requires at least 1,800 feet of visibility to land.

Same thing happened to me a few years ago. Luckily, I only had a carryon. I got together with 4 other people and we got an Uber to take us to the Trenton airport. Split the bill.

Sounds exactly like something they would be able to help with.

I was flying Frontier from Orlando to Trenton not too long ago and, while I've had bad experiences in the past, the flight itself was surprisingly smooth and incident free. The only issue was the announcer greeting us with "Welcome to Philadelphia!" when we arrived in Trenton - we all just laughed it off and moved on. I'm not sure if this issue has been resolved but I'm surprised the crew didn't realize their error!

I don’t think so but I’m not too sure. The flight was MCO to TTN not MCO to PHL. But instead of landing at our destination we landed in Philly.
