Does this randomly pop into anyone else's head from time to time? I'm sure for me it's because I'm a huge car guy but all these years it still does.

Damn you
I worked there for years but don’t remember this jingle.
I'm only 31. As far as I know they used it since at least the 60s.
Ah wow thanks
SEE JOHN FORCE TAKE ON CRUZ PEDREGON IN THE FUNNY CARS!
I heard it a lot in the 90s and early 2000s as a kid. Usually when the Summer Nationals came to town.
Yes in the high pitched voice almost cartoonish. Then the Series voice to follow with some background beat. I wish the drag strip was still operational. To much building on Texas Road and the surrounding area. They may still use that introduction for the Spring or Fall swap meet.
I’m glad I’m not alone! That will just pop into my head at the most random of times and places. No idea why that happens.
Only when someone mentions it on reddit. That, and Metallica lyrics.
Raceway park just reminds of the Grateful Dead piling in over 100k people there on 9/3/77
> Metallica
GIMME FUEL GIMMIE FIRE GIMME DABAJABAZA!!!!!!!!!
Same. Just randomly did it today.
YOU’LL PAY FOR THE ENTIRE SEAT BUT WILL ONLY NEED THE EDGE OF IT!!!!!
Oh damn!! I forgot where that fits and now I need to listen to the Whole thing!
Man I miss that place. It’s a shame the area got developed and then people complained about the noise. Also the lack of a safe shutdown area with pension road just after the catch net was a factor.
CRAZY EDDIES PRICES ARE INSAAAAAANE!!!!!!! that one too
He revs the engine to 9000 RPM, releases the brake, and the front wheels go 13 feet in the air!
Oh my god this is ingrained in my brain. It comes back from time to time.
I heard this post
Yeah I lived near it and could actually hear the cars or motorcycles and all the fireworks
Hahaha yes
I was working in an office for my college internship and between tasks I went online to buy tickets to the 2004 Warped Tour in Englishtown.
I got to the venue’s website and didn’t realize my computer speakers were on, and the “oh ho ho ho ho” line blasted out loud as hell … just as my boss was walking by. Crap.
I panicked and closed the browser … Boss didn’t break stride or turn her head, but yelled in the voice, “RRRRRRACEWAAAAAAAY PARK!”

I always thought the voice was trying to be a knockoff Alvin (and the Chipmunks).
You could be right, considering Raceway Park was around the same time Alvin was.
Also: SUNDAY at FIRST National Speedway! THRILL to the sounds of NITRO-burning funny cars! And from the coast JUNGLE JIM LIBERMAN and his 356 CHEVROLET!
Mine says “YA-HA-HA-HA-HA” but otherwise, yeah, randomly. I grew up near there and remember summer nights sitting in the backyard and the sound of funny cars ripping on the track at night
This and the Reps Fitness Supply commercials for sure
Sunday Sunday Sunday
Sucks the new neighbors who bought homes in the area had it shut down.
Those ads always made me happy because it was one of the first glimmers of hope that the end of winter was coming
Dude, I was literally about to comment the same thing because no one ever knows what I’m talking about. We wanna pump you up! You could not get away with little people with inflatable muscles today lol
I haven't lived in New Jersey since 2007 and after reading that I can hear it as clear as day.
All the damn time and I’ve never even been there 😂😂😂
Great, I’m going to be hearing this in my head for the next two days. “RACEWAY PARK, ENGLISHTOWN, NEW JERSEY!!!!!!”
(And then there’s Englishtown’s OTHER great landmark, the Auction, but that didn’t have a memorable commercial on WABC, 99X, or New York’s Best Rock, WPLJ!)
Everyone needs to get together and fight to get the drag strip back ratchet Friday’s back and more
Yes, it does.
And I have run motorcycles at the dragstrip there several times
And that sent me down an entirely different path. https://youtu.be/dChdT_XKmWc
I can’t believe it’s been around that long. I heard that on TV and the radio well into the 2000s.
I remember the noise of the cars from Raceway Park, on a windy day, was heard clearly from my parents’ old house on the easternmost end of Marlboro. We could also sometimes hear the foghorn on the Raritan River from time to time - also not super close by.
Like they twisted a chipmunk
I heard it a lot as a kid (late 80s/early 90s for me) as well. My father's boss raced at Island and Raceway Park for years.
Thank you.
Me too. Read it in the voice
That and Action Park https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZhN0YI0FpDE
Where’d everybody go?!
Sounded like one of the whammy’s from press your luck
oh man i bet that was a trip
fooooo faaaaa dabajabazaaaa
I hate you for posting this
Worked quite a few summers in the soda/hotdog satellite snack bars as well as the main area in the sausage sandwich/lemonade stands. Can't remember the name of the dude that was the main child worker wrangler. But he was always riding around on a 4 wheeler ordering us all around. Joe maybe? Been a looong time.
Noise complaints didn’t shut down raceway park. Safety issues, insurance costs, and declining attendance were the primary reasons that lead to them shutting down events.
The dirt bike track and test track are still used and you can still hear them every weekend when
Find it on YouTube.
OMG I HEAR THAT FUCKING CHIPMUNK VOICE IN MY HEAD RIGHT NOW!
Lol I remember that. And how about, Kia Sophia!
People complaining added to it. I remember being a kid and they lined up a bunch of funny cars and started them all up as an F you to the surrounding area.
I hate you...
And it's
"Heh heh heh heh... Raceway Park"
I always thought the voice was Alvin and the Chipmunks LMAO. I miss the old Raceway park. I wish they could find a way to bring it back
These prices are….INSANE!
They used it every year for the swap meet and for the old time drags up until about 5 years ago
Yes! Was looking for this and was not disappointed!
