I was wondering why a worker would stick their neck out like that on camera, showing their full nimby ass to the world. Him being the owner makes a looot more sense. I've known quite a few nimby construction owners in my life who act like this, they all fantasize about being violent like this guy

This moron posted the video on his own company's Facebook page - he actually thought that was a good idea. His business got shredded, thankfully. Hope he doesn't get off with a slap on the wrist.
edit: Just gonna add that I love that they also charged him with carjacking, not just for the assault.

Him being the owner also means he could be a continued asshole to the poor guy. If that truly is his property, he could press charges for trespassing and this asshat seems just like the kind of...pleasant...person to do that.

The guy doing the beating owns a local auto parts store in the area. The entire video is wild, he just runs right into the food vendors tent.

That video is crazy. I love his whole "go ahead, call the cops" smug demeanor and now he's arrested.

It's because he thought the guy was an illegal immigrant and wouldn't call the cops. He said so in the video

He is very lucky nobody had anything more spicy as a reply to his bs.

I will never understand why people get worked up over food vendors. So many freakout videos of people just going apeshit over them. Do they hate delicious and cheap food?

Authoritarian-minded Karens/Kens go absolutely ballistic over the mere thought that someone may not have the correct permits for something
Also, a lot of uptight suburban folks feel that roadside vendors and/or food carts are somehow "trashy" or "dirty."

Yeah, I've been to Asian countries where street food is common and aside from health concerns I don't see it as anything but a good thing. It's cheap, easy, and often better than you'd get in many restaurants. Also I'm sure there are unhygienic vendors but I never got sick from street food.
hatrickstar t1_j9hckoq wrote
Or like, I dunno, ask kindly?
If it's his property it's his property, fair play, but don't attack the dude over it. If you want him to leave, ask nicely and if the guy makes a scene about it then get the authorities involved.
That's the thing, about 90% of these videos I've seen the person going full Karen doesn't have any legal reason to be involved. This is the first time I've seen one of these where it's the actual land owner (not that it makes him less shitty) and not some rando walking on the street.

Yeah pre-trial it’s just safer to say allegedly than risk a libel lawsuit.

Not just an employee, but the owner. I bet he was pleasant to work for.
