Or was legitimately confused on how he got her number. When I worked on a ambulance years ago we couldn't see the callers phone number.

As another commenter pointed out constructively, I guess university police officers have access to all of that which makes it that much worse.

I appreciate the attempt at sarcasm & downvotes on a legitimate question though.🤷‍♂️

The question itself is an implication. You were implying that because he had her number, she must have given it to him and therefore wanted him to contact her. The naïveté is a nice touch though.
