Put on the cape bro.
Totally agree - if there was any comeuppance for this, then people wouldn’t do it so often, but at this point, there are no consequences for breaking certain laws in nyc and so people are just going to continue breaking those laws in increasing numbers until they face a single consequence.
I think we’re pretty rapidly heading in that direction
If the car has no plates it can also be reported to sanitation dept as an abandoned vehicle. They are slower to respond but if the car is there still a few days later w no plates then supposedly they will tow it. Also could consider calling city council office or community board.
Surprisingly, it has 0 tickets, and 0 past tickets. It must either be semi new (but still the old black and yellow plate), or it belongs to an officer.
How about fake plates. Like everyone is from Texas now
I saw Hawaii on my block the other day. Come on!

Ban cars
This is not the way
This sub is becoming next Nextdoor and bikeporn. I kinda miss the homeless mod who didn't let his friends spam the sub with this bullshit.
It’s the NYC sub and this is an important issue. It’s billions of tax dollars not received. It’s potentially an unsolved hit and run. It means safer streets and accountability.
Its not an important issue at all. Its a bored rich people issue.
Found the guy who never leaves his apartment or, more likely, doesn’t live in the city.

You definitely live in NJ or LI.
the city doesn't care. Why should you?
OP “what if it was someone I care about that got mower down by this car right here” seems pretty self explanatory
Nice strawman. There is a tattle tale hall monitor thing happening in this city now and it's really lame. What happened to you keep your head down and dont get involved in other peoples business? I blame covid and all these doo good transplants.
Do you obscure your license plates? Why or why not?
I don't have a car but if I did I would think about it.
Yikes
It’s symbolic of a larger problem, which is a lack of responsibility to the greater whole. If someone’s not accountable to the same rules as someone else the social fabric of trust deteriorates. It may not bother you, but it upsets a lot of New Yorkers. Not just transplants.
Ppl treating Reddit nyc forum like it’s the “nextdoor” app
