Sadly prices are going up this year for your favorite foods. I'm close with one of the members in the association. The price of beef is high and they all seem to get their beef from the same supplier. Other vendors can't under-sell others because it is frowned upon.

With rising costs, the vendors may appreciate this. Regular patrons on the other hand likely will not.

Yeah, I agree, but even the vendors may not appreciate it beyond a certain threshold. Who knows, maybe it’ll find a good equilibrium. One can hope.

Last time I went I was pushed outta the way by this huge tour group, filled with white people that looked lost. I didn’t even know there were official tours for the market.

They got some great food and the best damn fresh lemonade I ever had

it really was great going there before all the articles, always a small crowd, plenty of space/seats, etc - like a small farmers market. Went again somewhat recently and couldnt even get in the parking lot.

Very excited for this to re-open. Meat sticks, spring rolls, fried bananas, I want it all.

Wonder if it'll be a mob scene this weekend.

Sucks, but the prices were already very low IMO. My partner and I could eat pretty well there on $20 last time I went.

I can’t speak from experience at the market itself but southeast Asian food in general is highly vegetarian friendly. Fried bananas, various tofus, stir fried veggie noodle dishes galore.

I discovered sugarcane juice there. Can't wait for some this year.

I haven’t been since they moved to FDR, but when they were around Snyder (I think maybe Mifflin park), I used to love the green mango with the lime/chili salt.

For sure, it’s ironic that it’s a super transitable area besides all of the parking lots and highways to cross.

I can't wait to try this out, I've kept missing it but this year I'm definitely going to get out there. Some of the best food / fav food in Philly is from Cambodian restaurants (Sophie's Kitchen is where I usually go)

Never been and want to go! Will probs skip this weekend due to the weather and crowds.

There's a lot of fish sauce used though, in tofu and noodle dishes too. Was hoping there would be some dedicated and labeled veg food.

Went there in the late 90s when the Cambodians used to play volleyball and it was family cookouts selling you meat and not vendors. Never saw it becoming a thing.

And FDR being one giant parking lot on the weekends with cars parked everywhere and bumper to bumper traffic. Ahh just what everyone wants when they go to the park.

Yup it sucks, cars should be forced to park around the stadiums and be banned inside the actual park, outside of accommodating the handicapped and deliveries.

Such an easy fix. The park is surrounded by parking lots for days.
