Queue Cue the instagram mob scene. Thanks NPR/WHYY.* (Edit: I'm aware of the difference, but phone commenting brain isn't always in proofread mode. However, the other comment is also correct that both could work depending on the situation.)
(* I know this isn't some super extra cool secret and it has been growing, but I do fear the way publicity quickly overwhelms things these days.)

It is definitely intentionally incendiary, but that's most media including the Inquirer. It wouldn't surprise me if the Inquirer wouldn't blink in rewriting the story to favor the officer under a certain set of circumstances, even if the important known details were entirely the same. That I don't have confidence in them (among many others) writing a dispassionate and just-the-facts news story is what frustrates me about them.

Reply to A friend told me there is a rail car on tracks on the second floor of the Philadelphia Library near the boiler room. What would that be for? by [deleted]
In the main library? If I had to guess, it’s probably for processing and sorting holds and and interlibrary loan books for transport around the system. Like this in NYPL: https://youtu.be/4IOv1O6SULY
They have a massive space in Queens for the entire system. It might actually process all the NYC library systems.

I have a friend moving from out of state with her boyfriend and considering a rental on Bonsall just north of Wharton Square in Point Breeze. I know the area is rapidly changing with money but also kinda block to block.
Anyone familiar with the blocks over there? Safety, vibe, etc?

Worst case scenario, your butthole is laminated.
Might be useful against spicy shits and hemorrhoids.

Are needed to do what? Tell the politicians what to do? Handpick the politicians that the voters get to choose from? Why do you want union leaders, who are not answerable to voters, to have control over city politics and over the needs and demands of the public at large?

Depends on what side of that coin you are on, or rather which pocket the coin falls into. The guys painting it aren't going to stretch that work into overtime for nothing.

The city can't/won't even enforce the raised bike lane on N American St.

Ah yes, surely what the city needs more of is homeless camps, especially ones full of righteous, overgrown children fighting "the man". The solutions are right in front of us if we just make up the right narrative.

I mean, there would have to be consequences for not paying, which is also a problem. "Advocates" everywhere interjecting some overwrought opinion about how fines aren't fair.

Imagine saying "the best way to help alcoholics is by giving them free, government paid for alcohol and a place to vomit until they make the personal decision to be sober." Staggering the lengths people will go to justify their hypotheses.

Yeah, I agree, but even the vendors may not appreciate it beyond a certain threshold. Who knows, maybe it’ll find a good equilibrium. One can hope.
