hey all. i know there are tons of posts about this all the time but wondering if you all have any specific advice i might not have gotten already.

i parked my car (lil black nissan versa note with plate LJH) on 5th by federal (in front of sacks playground/vare washington elementary) on 11/7 and when i returned to retrieve it on 11/18, it wasn't there. this area is free to park. it would not have been affected by the marathon/the timeline doesn't line up anyway.

called PPA (no record), abandoned vehicles (nope), 911 said it is not in their tow records, called my police district (3) and they didn't have anything, called george smith, angelina's, and south philly towing, all of whom don't have it.

i have reported it as stolen and initiated a claim with insurance and am waiting to hear back from the elementary school, because i'm hoping they have cameras or know if there were any closures or events (though the cop who came to my house said there weren't any).

i've been wandering around and know the loose rule that it would be relocated within 5 blocks in any direction and will continue to look in this way, but are there any other steps i'm missing? any sort of common tow location? anyone i should be regularly calling for updates? thanks in advance for any help!

Try searching your VIN # on PPAs website. This is how my daughter found her car. Her's had been towed due to construction by Rob's Auto in Bristol and they put it in a bus zone so it got towed again by PPA. They towed it to their lot, but had entered her plate wrong. It was a whole shit show. I hope you find yours.

It sounds like you've already searched the area, which is the first step. I think it's best to spiral outward from where it was parked, since they don't want to tow it any farther than they have to.

When my car was towed, the person I talked to at PPA said that seven blocks in any direction is the rule, but it was three or four blocks away (depending on how you count).

This seems like another opportunity to say that moving somebody's car, for any reason, without making a public record of where you put it, should be punishable by a fine and the revocation of your tow-truck license.

If it's not under 95 try the acme parking lot on 10th street.
