I heard them. Im at 16th and Wolf and the first two sounded like they were right out my window. The third was further away as you said. Seemed too loud and boomy to be gunshots. Sounded like fireworks, and while who tf is lighting off fireworks after midnight in the middle of a rainy winter night, anything is possible in South Philly!

Edit: just heard one more further away again.

I heard these loud noises, came here looking for answers. My first thought was they were too much of a “bang” to be gunshots. And they sounded really far away to me, I’m at the top of West Passyunk, or the bottom of Point Breeze. Air moisture carrying noise from the river? Just heard another bang as I typed this at 12:48am.

Just heard another one. First sounded farther away and was accompanied by car alarms. They don't sound like fireworks

Yea I'm hoping that's what it is. It definitely sounded like 16th and wolf and then the last one sounded super close. I'm at 13th and Snyder and it sounded right there.

As I was typing this I heard another @ 12:48. Almost positive it was gunshots because I hear a bunch of blood curdling screams now...

Yea exactly. The closer ones didn't really sound like gunshots but the screams i heard are unsettling.

12:54 I'm hearing a bunch of quieter bangs now. Sounds more like what I'd think gunshots sound like... Sounds like it's around 16th and McKean or so. Also just heard a loud one that I doubt it gunshots.

Wow another one at 12:55am. That one sounded closer. Citizen app reporting it now. Comment on there saying “police were told someone went by in a car and threw out fireworks”.

The citizen report mentioned the screams I heard. I'm hoping it's fireworks. Those quieter ones were definitely more like gunshots. Probably just fireworks but I wanted to see if anyone saw anything.

I don't want to discourage looking into things - and I'd be curious, too - but typically with gunshots, you're not going to have them spaced out like that.

If a shooting takes place, the parties involved almost always: 1) leave immediately and go anywhere else but there, 2) die or get into an ambulance , 3) get arrested.

Highly unlikely for there to be a 10+ minute gap.

"I shot this person. I have decided after having a sandwich that I would like to shoot this person again. No one has come to stop me."

Or

"I shot this person and peeled out, but decided to come back 10 minutes later to the scene and pop off a few more."

Yeah I know. The reasons I wanted to look into it were that It seemed to be moving. So I thought people might have been chasing each other or something. But the main reason is I heard a bunch of screams. Like really scared screams.

Screaming can be unnerving and obviously good to check on. Universal sign of distress. I have also seen adolescent/teen girls in groups shrieking in a distressed manner, but they were just running around acting wild. I'm not a fan of such false alarm screaming. Boy who cried wolf and all that.

Yeah I've seen that before too. People just screaming for fun. I'm glad it wasn't anything serious. I honestly thought it could have been a drunk driver crashing into shit on broad or something because it didn't quite sound like fireworks and it didn't sound like gunshots either until I heard the screams.
