A buddy and I are coming in to town this weekend for the beerfest and we’re looking for good places to eat and nice places to stay that won’t break the bank. I think my buddy wants to try hofbrahaus which I’m down with. We also thought about going to church brew works after the beerfest but I’ve heard that it has gone downhill the past few years. Do you have any recommendations for food? Or any recommendations for hotels or Airbnb? Thanks in advance!

Sheraton Station Square. In the center of everything really.

As someone who lives next to an Airbnb, the neighbors already hate you. Help keep housing costs down and stay in a hotel

What cuisine do you guys like? Also for hotels, we loved TRYP by windham in lawrenceville. Just stayed there this weekend

I’ll look in to that hotel. As far as cuisine, we’re easy to pleasey. Big fan of Mexican food but nothing is out of the realm of possibilities. We might just want a really good burger or good pub food on Saturday night.

Hmm, I wish I knew some good Mexican places, but can’t name any that I’ve particularly loved. I’ll list my faves: noodle head for Thai ($12.50 noodles and BYOB), cafe moulin for brunch/crepes, selamis kebab house or pasha for Mediterranean. I haven’t been to point Brugge but I’ve heard great things about their burgers

Just looked at TRYP hotel. It seems nice and pretty reasonably priced. Is there a garage or anything for parking? If so, do you know how much it is?

Thanks for those food recommendations! I’ll definitely look in to those. Noodle head sounds like a good time!!

It was really clean and pretty cute interior-wise too. Rooftop was closed for the season though. From what I saw, there was only valet parking, but there’s a ton of street parking in the area if you look around enough, which is what we did. And yes, noodlehead is always a great time! Try their street noodle #1: the fried chicken pieces are unreal

I'd stay in or near the Strip District. It's near the convention center and has a ton of good beer and food options (Cinderlands, Aslin, Helltown). You're also an easy walk across the river if you want to try North Side breweries like ACB or Four Points.

Came here to suggest Tryp. Puts you right in the middle of Lawrenceville which is super walkable and has TONS of options for food, coffee, bakeries and by the sounds of it your main interest breweries. In Lville you've got five or six breweries (11th Hour, Hop Farm, Cinderlands, Lolev, Coven and even Trace up in Bloomfield is close) and directly across the bridge in Millvale you've got two. Plenty of bars in Lville too. I like Stinkys for an "off the main street" option. Great burgers, decent beer menu and a touch more quiet than Butler Street options. If you're into vinyl, best record store in Pgh is in Millvale (the Attic). I'd make Lawrenceville your "base." Plenty to do there and easy access to other things.

If you feel like a quick Uber, The Bigham Tavern on Mt. Washington is good bar food and you can take in the view while you’re up here. Welcome to the Burgh

If you're a beer snob I'd suggest trying Fat Head's. And East Carson St. is good for people watching but can get a little wild if it's the weekend evening and the weather is fair.
