I'd love for Meijer to expand here. I'm hoping it's on the table since they opened up a few Fresh Thyme locations a while ago

Meijer is way too big a store for this area, square footage wise

If the Pittsburgh area can support multiple Walmart supercenters then I think a Meijer is no issue. They're about the same size

Meijer is now building some smaller stores- about 75,000 square feet.

They should have bought up some of the old larger format K-Marts in the area to remodel.

Meijer has money in Fresh Thyme, so that might not be as far fetched as one may think

They have Meijer stores in Youngstown and Cleveland now. Western PA could very well be their next expansion region.
