Ok. That’s a lot better than the quote I got. Who’d he/she go with? Ty in advance 🙏
We paid just over 7,000 for a higher end 2 stage Lennox, and that included new vents to the outside and some electrical wiring that need to be changed.
Thank you for this info. What’s the benefit of a 2-stage? And do you know it’s BTU output?
No sure of the BTUs, not seeing it in the paper work. But it’s 2500 square foot house. The way I understand 2 stage is depending on the temperature it will run at normal or reduced temperature/fan speed. It seems to keep the temperature more consistent.
Two stage is great if you can afford it and you have a thermostat that can control it properly. Think of it as having two settings for your furnace, warm and hot.
If the house cools off a little, it will heat it back up with stage 1 (warm).
If you come home from work and turn it up from 65 to 68, it will kick on stage 2 to hear your house up quickly.
The advantage is stage 1 keeps the temperature more consistent so you don't feel hot/cold/hot/cold as the furnace kicks on and off.
The 3 stage was about $700 more, including the thermostat. We figured it’s worth it given we’ll have it for 15 years. So far we’re happy it. The old one we we’re definitely getting that hot:cold back and forth.
If you have the time you should really get multiple quotes. J&A isn't a contractor I'd consider using, their main business is home warranty companies so they may be overcharging to make up for the low payouts from the warranty companies.
Cost is going to depend on how efficient a furnace you need, if they're having to do any other work, etc.
The technician from J&A told me they stopped doing home warranty work a while back. FYI.
Contact Denillo Heating and Cooling. We found them to be more than fair in pricing for a furnace and a/c unit back in 2017. Service is top notch, as well.
+1 they've maintained my HVAC for the last 10 years
In October 2021 they replaced my furnace and A/C with a 2 stage Trane HE furnace and outside condenser unit. Came to $8200 installed, new outside vents for the furnace and lines to the condenser unit. I want to say the furnace alone was $3600 but my condenser was 14 years old so I had them do everything.
1300 sq foot house. We got 3-4 quotes in November. All of them were pretty pricey. Cheapest was 4k, but they ranged from 4-6k. We went with one that cost us 5.2, but it met the efficiency standards for some of the rebates. Worth it IMO since we plan on being here for a while and I knew the price of gas was likely to go up this season (which it has).
A good buddy of mine does this if you need another quote
Contact?
I replaced mine in January 2022 - it cost about $3500
That’s about half of what they quoted me at. Who did you use and did you like them?
I went with Jordan Comfort Solutions. I was pleased with the service - went back to them for my AC in may of this year. How many sf is your house?
950
Mine is 1200 - I didn’t understand the calculation, but I know that impacts the price as well.
Another vote for Jordan Comfort Solutions let me knowing you need contact info
Last year, 5k but I have a big ol house, Craft heating and cooling. They have done 2 furnaces and 2 AC over the last 22 years
I didn’t have mine replaced but very recently had some minor repair work. Asked about what it would/will cost to replace my furnace (from 2007, in a 110 year old Shadyside home, probably in the next 5-7 years) and was told $3500ish all in for full replacement parts and labor. The HVAC person is a very good contact and friend via my wife’s former work as an East End property manager. We’ve used him for years and he’s always been beyond responsive and fair to us, so I assume this is a very reasonable cost estimate
nice. would you mind sharing his contact info?
Just remember these furnace quotes are just the furnace part. If you have AC too that’s a more expensive story.
I recently had mine replaced. The new one cost $5200 for a 90k BTU furnace with AC unit. That price included all parts and labor
I'm not sure where you are located, but try Next Level Heating and Cooling in West Mayfield (Beaver Falls). The owner/installer is a tech support guy for the HVAC industry and is incredibly knowledgeable and reasonable.
Just had a new unit put in for $4600. Supreme heating and cooling.
Bout 4500 is average i believe

My friend just had his switched out. It's just a basic Rehm furnace, total was in the $4k ballpark, IIRC.
