The folks you’re looking for don’t go to “cool bars”. They go to the corner bar that opens at 10am and still allows smoking.

My cement finisher dad and his kindred spirits don't do that at bars. They go to Starbucks.

My basement is the coolest bar I can find. Good music, watching sports, shooting the shit (almost literally, got a gun range on property)

The Hanger out in Moon used to be for 3rd shift airport workers. They'd get off at like 7AM and that's when their night would start, and the place kept opposite hours of what you would expect.

Now, it's a rebuilt square cinderblock building with a plane out front that serves brunch on Sunday.

Look for your nearest hole in the wall. Seriously. Go in and feel it out for yourself :)

Find a local bar and go around 3 PM, earlier if it's raining.

The Thunderbird used to open at 7am and have a bunch of third shift workers drinking in the morning, but since they've remodeled it looks like they open at 5pm now.

Tammy's or Jack's still opens for shift workers. Tammy's has a decent breakfast.

They are the true Yinzers. Forget about Steeler fans or whatever. Show me the guys who are at the bar at 10:30am on Christmas Day. They’re the real deal, no posturing or fakeness there.

What makes it a Blue Collar bar? Do they check your boot straps & see if you can pick yourself up by them at the door? This post is dumb, Pittsburgh is a diverse city & I've seen blue collar folks at every type of bar around here.

Instead of isolating maybe open up to people you may think you don't have a lot in common with? Chances are you do.

Neighborhood pubs and taverns are always a good place to find blue collar folks after work. A lot of beer and shot bars like that are actually really cool in that they have really “Pittsburgh” heavy vibes and they’ve been around forever. Tons of history to be explored. Good luck on your search.

I think they mean the kinda bar that is a beer and shot bar. The tap list consists of Iron, Iron Light, Miller, Coors, and if they want to be fancy, Yuengling. The most exotic cocktail is going to be a Jack and Coke or Captain and Coke. The music is just DVE on the radio and the only time it gets turned down is during the evening lottery. It will have a pool table and poker machines.

I put the black diamond point inlay of a pool cue straight thru the palm of my hand on a break there once. In and out hand was stuck to the stick. Bartender had to cut me off it with a steak knife. True story.
