Ahhh thought it looked familiar. I went there only one time on a whim. The Bruins were playing on a projector screen along with the other TVs in there but they shut it off so they could all watch jeopardy together

Anyone remember the name of the bar that was there before E&O? It was an actual dive bar then, late 1990s. They mainly served Rolling Rock in 7oz bottles. I think it was a guy's name? Jimmy's or Johnny's or something?

Did he hurt you? You seem to have a grudge. Or more likely, you just saw some people you didn't like the look of, and had fun building characters to hate in your head.

I never went, but I know some queers who liked it. As far as helping the cause, co-ops are a form of business ownership that mitigates the harms of capitalism, since it places ownership/control with the workers. Richard Wolf is probably the most vocal proponent of co-ops, so look him up if you want more info. (I'm not really here to debate economics, but you asked)

From day 1 you hire an actor to play a local drunk “Sammy” who has been coming there for years, hates all these kids that have started coming there. Every so often you might get lucky and see the bartender kick Sammy out “That’s it Sammy! Get the fuck out! I don’t want to see you in here again!” He’s a fixture in the corner talking shit and being generally creepy towards any women that come in.

We already have a dive-themed bar, and Scurvy is perfect just as it is.

Yea , also doesn’t help that the dude who had control of all the finances was a general creep and took advantage of young girls all the time, now he’s living the life at Michelin starred restaurants and renting our entire villas in southern Cali (according to his instagram)

In 2023, not really. Most places that people call dives or dive-y have elements of that definition but they ultimately aren't really dives. It became hip and stylish to be sort of a dive bar over the last 20 years. Now, it's more of a chosen aesthetic that places have.

Few friends of mine have been victim to his antics, crazy no one he works with will Hold him accountable, nor will his gf, who from my understanding works with non-profits who support victims of sex abuse and domestic abuse

I’m sorry, how is scurvy a fake dive bar? Taken over by 3 local punks 15 years ago after it was the worst dive bar (green bar). They decorated how they wanted and only painted the building black. Drinks are cheap and you aren’t going to get some fancy cocktail list.

Right? Nic a nees has windows for Christ’s sake! Proper dive bars should have basement window style windows if any at all. All kidding aside, no one would say that about scurvy if they’d spent any time there.
