Make a London broil or a pot roast then use the leftover meat as the base for borscht the next day.

My wife does, she lived in Russia for awhile. Uses an old Georgian family recipe. Oh, sorry, that doesn't help you... You're going to need to find a babushka. Otherwise, settle for Perly's, it's not bad.

I do. ;-D Actually, there's a good allrecipes.com one for slow cooker borscht, just cut the vinegar to 3tbsp, 6 tbsp is excessive.

The only place I know of with borscht is Perly’s, as others have suggested. Not a lot of Eastern European or Russian cuisine in RVA.
