(i) Richmond is pretty friendly to the LGBTQ community (ii) We’re are a mixed bag, as far as ppl moving here, but folks tend to be fairly friendly, overall (iii) Richmonders can be kinda clique-y, but there is a lot to do here, so meeting ppl isn’t too hard (at least, plutonically) (iv) We have a pretty good food scene (v) The internet is pretty good around here. Rarely have issues w/ connections

I wholeheartedly disagree. I, personally, know a ton of people that were able to achieve Sobriety through The Healing Place. They are strict, but as they say “It works, if you work it.”

Where are you getting that from my response? I want to see the city grow. I just recommend folks don’t walk around acting like something they’re not. A transplant can certainly become a Richmonder, but VCU kids from NOVA don’t get to claim that. If they stick around for a decade or so after graduating, then sure.

The only place I know of with borscht is Perly’s, as others have suggested. Not a lot of Eastern European or Russian cuisine in RVA.
