Who is the worst liar on television?

By worst liar, I mean which TV character had the worst excuses or told the worst lies, either that or or which character told the most lies in terms of volume. Alternatively, which character was the most manipulative and told the best lies?

Best liar could be Littlefinger, Varys, or Lade Elena from Game of Thrones. Or maybe Wendy Byrde from Ozarks. I was actually quite disturbed by how manipulative she was. She nails the emotional side of it. Nearly every issue in the show starting at Season 3 was a result of her ambition and she spins it all so well that even audiences were convinced she wasn't the problem.

Worst liar, no idea dude. That's a tough one

I completely agree with Wendy Byrde. In my post, I actually chose Marty Byrde as a bad liar! Marty has way too many tells, he’s easy to read. He tends to speak quickly and stutter when he's lying. In the first season, Del actually tells Marty that he knows when he is lying.

Yeah now that I think of it, that's a good one for bad liar. Marty showed he's a terrible judge of character and he's so monotone that his truth and lying just all feel like he's detached and you feel he's lying no matter what, or just saying what you want to hear. You don't feel like he's telling you the truth no matter what he says, and that makes him a bad liar.

Jeez I completely forgot, and I loved Better Caul Saul. Yes he's absolutely up there. The last episode even highlights how legendary of a liar he is.

Kirk Devane. Nobody comes close. Bob Newhart nixed the character because the writers were spinning the craziest yarns around his pathological lies, and it was taking away from Bob's ego.

Kirk from Newhart was defined by his lying. The character was written out after two seasons and is generally reviled now, but his two seasons were the only two seasons the show was nominated for the best comedy Emmy.

Walter White was terrible at coming up with lies, and his face revealed it all every time he lied to Skyler.

I got secondhand embarrassment just watching him at work.

The only good lie he told was >!telling Jesse he didn't poison Brock!<.

Angela from Mr. Robot, sort of. I say sort of because the other characters would often believe her when she lies, but on the other hand, whenever she had to lie she would give this full deer in the headlights look, before composing herself and telling the lie with a straight face. And every time I’d be like “wait did no one else notice she froze for a second? Or was that just something the audience could see?”

He's masterfully deceptive, often implying a lie by telling a certain truth

But also, he's so.damn.obvious

The man can't help himself, one of my favorite part of rewatches, one you get past the intrigue, bloodshed, the passion & obsession

You realize he's just trolling people, the whole goddamn time
