Have you seen this recently uncovered footage from the Philippines in 1942? Sometimes it is hard to wrap your head around the fact that there was a lot more going on than just the holocaust, killing nazis, and the whole Western front.

I guess it's pretty interesting to see a 1942 walis (broom) that seems to be a thicker walis tambo with a heftier handle instead of walis tingting seemingly for outdoor use.

Walis tambo are usually for indoors, and are smaller/thinner.

For The Record : the Broom the puppy is playing with is called a Walis-tambo

— it’s made from a local grass and my family used it until there was a sizable gap in the middle like missing front teeth — you just had to sweep from the side of the broom until the Whiskers evened out and you had a nub of a broom— that’s when you get a new one

My dad was given his given his engineering degree early to go fight in WWII. Three months of radar training and sent to the Philippines. But winter 1943. Very slim chance but I was hoping to see him.
