But, after all, the Putin trolls you find on social media are mostly younger guys at special offices to just post this crap all over, again and again. They love them some money and are probably on Putins side anyway. Very popular in these countries.

You can try to play this with a friend. Let them try to argue against you while you defend something obviously stupid like a genocide. It is so easy to make up arguments that sound totally correct while they talk against a wall.

In written form this leaves a trail of conversation with them having the last word because the counter part just doesn’t want to continue this crap. This is fucking dangerous. Many people read these comments and many people slowly change their mind.

Norwegian here, I vaguely recall seeing the name before, but I'm pretty sure its an independent newsorg, and basic googling seems to support that.

Apparently their editor was declared persona non grata by Russia in 2016, and the site was blocked there in 2019.

Moreover the FSB apparently attempted to pressure the Norwegian government to silence the newspaper/site, on the basis that it was harming the relationship between the two nations, the source for that is a report from NRK which is the staterun news organization of Norway, sort of Norway's BBC.

In short, I can't say if this site is fully trustworthy or not from experience, but its not part of a Russian propaganda network as far as i can tell.

Finland on the other hand requested this, and joining NATO was supported by the majority of the population and the vast majority of Parliament

Well I'm happy Finland will be joining, since we need countries with a backbone on the frontier of NATO and Russia, and not ones that self impose restrictions on the intelligence activities of the alliance.

We have clearly seen there is nothing to gain by milquetoast attempts not to "provoke" Russia.
