That's crazy close, I wonder if they had permission and then flew too close. I can't imagine air defense would let anything that close without it being approved.

From their (Russian) command, but absolutely not from the ships they overflew.
This is nothing new. They've been doing stuff like this since the beginning of the war. By design of course. They know the west can not risk being drawn into the conflict in Ukraine. Russia would be happy to have that happen because it would validate their claims the US and west are the true aggressors here.

They regularly doing it since 2010 if not earlier tbh, so far only country which opened fire after warnings was Turkey, russian “rip pilots, we will never forget, we will never forgive and we will revenge” durated around 8 days, after that everyone start pretending nothing happened lol

And whats next? Get kicked out of Ukraine very quickly? Thats their goal?

They’re not completely dumb. They know they can’t win and their positions are untenable. The faster they get forced out of Ukraine the better for them at this point. It just can’t be the “lesser” Ukrainians that do it. They want it to be the mighty NATO so they can play the victim card.

Actually they still are under illusion that they can win..

(On the one hand – ed.) there will be revanchist sentiments. On the other, there will be a request for normalisation and stabilisation."
More details: however, as Meduza states, the political bloc of the administration of the Russian President is more optimistic. In particular, according to one of the sources, the Kremlin still hopes that in the West, "the consensus in support of Ukraine will collapse" due to the need for cheap energy sources.
According to Meduza, the Kremlin's other hope is a sharp change in the political situation in Ukraine and the resignation of President Volodymyr Zelenskyy. In addition, the Russian authorities believe that in a few months, the Russian army will become more combat-ready thanks to mobilisation and will turn the tide in the conflict zone.

Sure, the world is a smoldering ash heap, Vovochka, but for a brief moment in time, we drew the west into a conflict thereby successfully validating our claims that they are the true aggressor :D

Everh time something like this happens, it reminds me of this simulation where a russian jet was shot down by nato forces, and it devolved into ww3.
And that's why nato forces wouldn't strike first.

That's my understanding as well. I would have to imagine that Russia is on thin ice with this kind of shit though.

Because the previous 8 months have proven that anything by Russia will occur according to design xD
