But at least we know, with Musk at the helm, he will do everything in his power to stop the Chinese government from using Twitter bots to subvert the narrative on this critical political issue... /s

I really doubt this helps the CCP in any way. In english the stuff is still easily available, and chinese know very well how to get around the tricks their government uses. So not sure if this is impacting anything at all.
It really shows that the CCP is scared shitless of their citizens though.

Good thing they have plenty of people on hand to tackle the problem!
This is sarcasm.

Disrupting the search function is effective against new users, which tends to flux in whenever there is a large event like this happening in China looking for uncensored news.
Experienced Chinese users are already following each other so they don't rely on the search function.

In between rants about Apple yesterday, Musk admitted Twitter was being swamped by bots, and (one of) the processes/algorithms used to stop them broke under the load.
It seemed like his response was to turn off that process. So....

He already is.
He has no problem raging about censorship and free speech when a private company limits someone's account but you won't hear him speak out against government surveillance and censorship in China. He's far too scared to piss them off.
Dude came out openly in support of Taiwan being part of China too.

Shitty automatic defense. He has a conflict of interest.

Considered he banned people for simple making jokes at his expense, it's clear his idea of censorship is the normal "whenever people I like suffer consequences" you get from the people he hangs with.
