If it’s that cold, I’d think a heating system is gonna be running all the time anyways to maintain whatever temp is in your house. It’s gonna be close to a 100F temp diff inside/outside anyways this weekend lol

55F during the day if we aren’t using the floor/house and then 68F at night upstairs, and downstairs stays at 55. We’ve hardly used heat during the day since we’re running the woodstove all the time, and it’s been pretty warm out, but that’s about to change.

This is great that someone helped but… you know your driveway is that long and is pain to shovel. There are other ways…

How about a nice little hedge, with a low impact trail running down the middle?

Reply to Alright folks, 25” since Friday another 8-12” on the horizon followed by rain. At what point should I seriously consider shoveling the roof? by [deleted]
I’d go out and roof rake just a 1-2 foot border for every storm with over 6” of snow if you normally have a fair amount of icicles. That should keep the ice-dam at the roof-edge to a minimum.
Edit: now if we end up with like… 6 ft of snow on the roof, that might warrant more clearing 😅

This is why a gas range and woodstove were not negotiable when we were house hunting a few years ago.
Worst case if we run out of propane, I can slowly boil water on top of the woodstove.

Rt 113 (the part they close in winter)
Rt 27 (all of it is great but the northern half from Augusta to Canada is the best)
US 201 (this time from Skowvegas to Canada)
Rt 220 from Waldoboro to Unity
And finally, any road that doesn’t have any lines painted on it, that has no visible power lines, and no houses: e.g. the Mayall RD in Gray. It’s short, but sweet

Reply to comment by GoblinShark603 in Could you please turn on your headlights? by lobster_man_207
I’m not a lawyer but the legislation says: Lights must be on when wipers are in constant use
IMO this would mean: using your wipers a few times just to clean washer fluid off the windshield? Not turning the lights on.
Using them once a minute in a light drizzle? Turn them on.
Perhaps there is some leeway in defining “constant” but the law also mentions decreased visibility in addition to constant wiper use.
> §2067. Lights
>1. Display of headlights. A vehicle located on a way must be equipped with headlights as described in section 1904. The headlights must be illuminated:
>A. During the period from sunset to sunrise; [PL 2015, c. 51, §1 (AMD).]
>B. At any time when, due to insufficient light or unfavorable atmospheric conditions, including, but not limited to, rain, freezing rain, fog or snow, persons or vehicles on the way are not discernible for a distance of 1,000 feet ahead; and [PL 1997, c. 249, §1 (NEW).]
>C. At any time when windshield wipers are in constant use. [PL 1997, c. 249, §1 (NEW).]

This is literally a cross-post of “redesigned” state flags.
Granted, that’s just the 1901 state flag so it was the state flag for a second.
