They like living in ant hills. Woe unto you if you don't agree with their big dreams of an overcrowded utopia.

Dense development is only considered desirable when it is high income or senior housing. Displacment gentrification or development, it doesn't really matter which comes first. The end result is pretty much the same. Call me NIMBY if you want, but huge buildings towering over a neighborhood of houses just look ridiculous. I won't enjoy living close to them.

That's interesting because a lot of the "incumbents" living here are not wealthy or white. Perhaps you haven't noticed.

Just because neighborhoods exist with this type of thing doesn't mean they like it. City Hall and developers don't care if they like it or not. These will get built anyway. Resistance is futile.

I am not surprised by that. I'm raining on their parade. Sadly, PATH shows no sign of changing, and even worse, it doesn't have to because despite its many faults and crap night/weekend service, the PA knows they really have no competition.

There was a big strike in the late 70s, I think, right on the heels of a subway strike. It lasted about 2 months. In July - during a garbage strike in NYC. Everyone had to crush into busses in the Port Authority. Heat wave + piles of garbage + busses packed like sardine cans. My direct route to/from the bus was through Hell's Kitchen - which lived up to its name. Ugh.

Yes. I should have said PATH train conductors and engineers. I didn't mean to imply that. Sorry if I was confusing.

Unfortunately, none of this is new. One comment, or a million, the PA knows they've got you over a barrel because the other options to cross the river are even worse. Just pray they never go on strike again.

Most of our cans were removed after 9/11. Bombs being hidden in trash cans was a real fear here, too. Backpacks were randomly searched. Look what happened at the Boston Marathon. Exploding backpacks. Clear cans are a nice idea though.

There are deer, birds, and small mammals living behind the fence. They need to remediate it, but do we really need more concrete?

Thanks! I'm afraid I'd have to hit the lottery first, and that's highly unlikely. Nice to think about though. I could switch to electric and dump PSEG (most of the time).😁

Thanks for this. I live in a row house, and I've only ever seen them on single family houses. Do they actually save a lot in electric costs?

"Should I just not give my ID next time?" You are out of your mind worrying now, and yet you say "next time"? Did you not learn anything? Pay the fare, or you deserve what you get.

I'm not sure what you mean about the city being less diverse, but there were gangs that beat up on minorities back then, notably the Dot Busters and the Bones, who were violent and despicable. Most people can't jump up and move when these things happen, so I don't think there was a mass exodus of any type. Aside from that, there was also run of the mill robberies, car thefts, etc.

Right at the corner of 440 and Duncan. Skyway Golf (because of Pulaski Skyway). Drive down Duncan past the Gulf station. The entrance is down further on Duncan going west. I think k it's only 9 holes.
