This is a very clever idea re MagSafe sticker- have another DAC/AMP which I may well do the same for.

Opposite problem, I have a young kid in the house and when I’m working and he’s upset about something I question the wisdom of closed backs. I have some IEMs to cover both bases.

I think I’d be more worried about drop bears, to be honest

Silicone medium sized single flange tips. I’ve tried everything- different flanges, sizes, bore hole diameters, foam- and every time I just come back to the default. I think I must have very average ears.

Very much the same. Can’t do it forever, but suddenly I’ll come back to headphones. I keep hearing good things about the Qudelix…

Because I listen across a phone, tablet, work laptop and personal laptop depending on context. Too much extra work to deal with.

I’ve just bought an Openheart cable from AliExpress. Quite impressed with the build quality, and it works just fine.

Feel you. I know they’re different sizes, but I can’t work out which are supposed to be larger and smaller. Fortunately the red ones are pretty good for me.

Could be cheap headphones, maybe your sound card doesn’t mute fully- could be a combo. In terms of fixing it, the most cost-effective solution is probably better headphones. If you can stretch even to $20 there will be a world of difference.

If it’s happening with multiple headphones, well worth a trip to the audiologist. The one thing I would say is that this also happened to me, and it turned out a balance control in Windows was set to favor the left channel. But that was me being dim, prob not representative.
