Pure speed will never be the solution to space travel. Finding a wormhole/jump type system might be possible but we are unlikely to achieve it anytime soon. We need to learn to move around our solar system way better first.

Actually we became a powerhouse in response to WWII, which was driven in US based tech.

You're conflating static G forces which are gravity based with acceleration forces. Your relative weight (static force) is higher or lower depending on the size of the mass exerting the force. Applied force (kinetic) is created by acceleration and are applied everywhere, even in space.
