Wait so if I have a proper 8 inch telescope with good tracking, I could find the ISS in the sky in time to actually look it up close if I keep tracking it?

They should just send us nolifes up there for testing so we can experience something cool before we die lol

This makes no sense dispute everyone saying it. It’s not just about the science, but also partly about achievement. We will put humans on mars eventually because it’s what we want to do as intrepid humans, it just might take a while and the first human to step foot on mars might arrive at a junkyard for a few generations of unmanned vehicles and robots

There’s a timeline that we only slightly diverted from where we went full stop towards space expiration during and after the Cold War. I fully believe that people would be on mars right now and a fully functional space economy would exist

Look I don’t think China fear mongering is good but I think it is very fair to have some worried regarding them becoming a space superpower. They haven’t had the best track record with making sure debris don’t fall right next to schools lol. I’m sure they’d pollute the moons sphere of influence in a heartbeat

That’s strangely reassuring because I don’t see us getting to that point, at least not for a long time

I feel like there should be really horrible consequences for whatever nation does that if it even becomes a reality

That might as well be an attack on humanity. Sure let’s just render the entire sphere of influence of the moon uninhabitable for everyone that wants to put a satellite there
