HHC has amazing fries. What’s even more remarkable is that they travel extremely well. Five Guys fries die on a 10 minute car ride. Haven fries still are crispy after 30 minutes in a box, in a bag, in an Uber.

Some bars still have 25¢ wings? Damn. In college like 30 years ago, 25¢ wings and $5 pitchers were the best.

Is it all full grain? The body and seats look it. Not sure about the back cushions. Full grain leather can last multiple human lifetimes and gets better with age. Pretty sure my grandkids will get mine. As they should; it cost enough!

Definitely a good dog. My perfect dog is a burnt Glenwood Hummel with Blackie’s spicy relish.

I have three kids in college. All their schools list recommended models. The engineering schools in particular seem to have strong recommendations. Their IT departments have on-site warranty service for certain makes/models.
Finally, if you won’t start college until next autumn: wait. Technology changes of course, but more importantly you probably want a warranty to span your entire time in college.

You can either find a DIY car wash or buy a pump sprayer at a Home Depot. They come in several sizes, you can fill the tank in your apartment sink, and then spray off your equipment outside.

No removable blades. I did not mean to imply they had them.
But I did mean to imply that it’s unnecessary because a good Vitamix is so powerful that nothing can hide under the blades.
AndMarmaladeSkies t1_itxpjgo wrote
Have you tried a high end Vitamix? There is a reason they are so expensive. One of which is the high power and special shape that creates a powerful vortex that doesn’t just spin but strongly lifts and folds ingredients vertically. I’ve never had to disassemble or reach under the blade to clean. Just add dish soap and blend to clean.
Another aspect may be the order in which you are adding blending ingredients and whether there is enough moisture to lift and fold. Throw just carrot in a blender and yes it’ll end up trapped under the blade. But first create a slurry of higher moisture ingredients and then add carrot and it’ll work.

Apologies for the Share button formatting. This one works fine for me. There are lots to choose from and they are laden with ads unless you want to pay.
I’m listening to "Connecticut State Police Troops C,D,E,F,H,K, Norwich, Groton, Willimantic Police" with the Scanner Radio app. You can listen to it here: https://scannerradio.app/?l=NjI3Nzc
(Link doesn’t work for me. My app is called Scanner Radio.)

As of 11:58 there have been no confirmed active shooting at any CT schools. There have been lots of precautionary lockdowns.

Listening to scanner app.
11:11 Norwich Tech reporting active shooting. Unclear if swatting (coordinated fake). Troopers en route nonetheless. Update: staff unaware of any incident. Troopers have inspected all rooms matching the given room number and have swept entire school. Just one more in this string.
12:15 Things seem to have calmed down a bit and State Police chatter seems mostly routine traffic, domestic disturbance, etc. Lockdowns and school sweeps are continuing though. Will probably sign off now.

Just pull the stem from the outside. Shut off the water, remove the handle, the nut behind the handle, and unthread/pull the stem. If it is long, then it’s frost free.

Two options. Poke through the screw holes with an awl to make room. The faceplate screws may drill into the plaster/drywall without any help. Or put spacers between the outlet and the wall. Like these made for that purpose.
