What I love about this photo is your words, OP: “my mom’s”. She gave birth to you, and she made you. And you love her, I bet. And always will.
I love my momma too. She put up with knucklehead little me, and later, big me. Her and my dad raised me and loved me even if I was a pain in the butt.
But love for your mom. That’s what I get from your photo you’ve shared. Thank you for that.

Agree 100%. As I get older, 47 now, I recognize that the distances between us and “them” are just so vast. Way farther away than my 47 years, certainly whatever I may have left, are but a speck on the head of a pin, in the sheer distances between points in space.

I’ve considered that a much more intelligent species (wouldn’t take much haha) likely no longer have a need to know if life exists elsewhere. They’ve come to terms with the size and scope of the universe, and their resources are employed much more efficiently for their species.

Well said. Being cool doesn't mean adorning one's self with branded, high end attire and accessories. It means "putting yourself together".
And, no, you don't even have to be a "pretty" person either. Just deliberate with looking your best. Like this is how I want the world to remember me. Even if you don't agree with the attire, it's clear to see when someone put thought into what they wear, because they like it. And, if I have the organic opportunity to complement them on that, I do. Even if not my own personal taste.
But I'm not gonna make it weird.

It’s our chemical makeup that is the big limiter, for now, and any foreseeable future. At the point where we can be separate from our body made of meat, yet still be sentient, then and only then can we make long distances and time become compressed.
The human body will always have an expiration. The mind, however, may be able to exist eternally.

If natural events here on our own tiny blue marble don’t shock you, like Hurricane Ian, then think about how very far away we are from the next tiny blue marble.
Not one in sight.

But Zoom calls, cameras on, would be worth the hassle!
